Analysis round trip

Pure generation

source prepare renders deterministic source/assets from the original ROM and current evidence, records an immutable generation commit and verifies original-ROM equality. Unknown or unjustified bytes remain raw assets. The generation's original identity and payload are checked before native Git integration.

Edited source build

Edit assembly, assets and maps normally. source build assembles current saved source, validates declared layout/state and asset consumption, and publishes a matching ROM/debug-map receipt. Working source may deliberately change cartridge bytes; equality to the original is required for pure generations rather than every working build. Copier headers remain private input metadata; source builds contain headerless cartridge bytes.

Integrate evidence

After importing captures or changing research, analyze, prepare and preview. Commit a reviewed checkpoint, apply the previewed generation, resolve and stage conflicts, then finish. Finish validates the merged build before committing it. An exact original-ROM rebuild establishes byte preservation, while incomplete analysis and unresolved code paths remain separate questions.
